The South-Auckland Muslim Association (SAMA) Mosque (also known as Jamia Masjid Al-Mustafa), established in year 1989 is one of the largest mosques in New Zealand. It was by a groups of Fiji Indians and other immigrants, to provide social, religious, educational and recreational services for the Muslim community.
In year 2004 the construction of the South Auckland Muslim Association Mosque was completed at 26 Mangere Rd Otahuhu, Auckland and is open for all salat and 24/7 throughout Ramadhan. Jummah Prayers are at 12.40pm (1.40pm during daylight saving time). All welcome.
The SAMA supports new initiatives that advocate for social harmony in a multicultural environment and raise awareness about Islam. Currently the SAMA works with government agencies, not-for-profit organizations and corporate partners to provide much needed community services.
