Other General Information on Death

Arrival of Death

Hazrat Abu Huraira (RadiAllahu Anh) quotes the prophet (Sal lallaahu alaihi wa sallam) as saying: When a believer is about to die, the angels come to him with a white sheet of silk and say ;

“Come out, good soul, well pleased and well pleasing to a world of Mercy and roses and to meet your Lord who is not displeased”.

It comes out with a fragrance which is more pleasant than musk. The angels hand him over one to the other the door of heaven where its angels say:

“what a pleasant smell has come to you from earth”.

When a disbeliever is about to die, the angels who administer torture come to him with sacks and say

“come out, you spirit, displeased to receive divine punishment. It comes out smelling like a rotten corpse and they take it to the earth gate where the angels say “what a rotten soul”.

“come out, you spirit, displeased to receive divine punishment. It comes out smelling like a rotten corpse and they take it to the earth gate where the angels say “what a rotten soul”.

WHEN A PERSON IS AT THE POINT OF DEATH

Prophet Muhammad (Sal lallaahu alaihi wa sallam) said:

“Let no Muslim die except expecting and hoping the best from Allah” (Muslim)

To follow are the Sunnah that Islam encourage us to do over a dying person:

Laa ilaaha il lal Lahu Muhammadur Rasoolullaah (There is no God but Allah, Muhammed is the Messenger of Allah.)

“He whose last words are La ilaha il lal laah......shall enter paradise.” (Abu Daw’ud, Al Hakim).

“Ash hadu al laa ilaaha illal-laahu wahdahu la shareeka lahu wa ash hadu anna Muhammed Abduhu Wa Rasuluhu”
